Celebrate Star Trek Day! 

The Federation Society (Utopian Federation) is very proud to announce the renewal of the Star Trek Day celebration. This campaign was originally conceived by the webmaster of the now-defunct Captain.net web site, and was later taken over by Ex Astris Scientia, Star Trek Minutiae, and MJ's Star Trek Portal.  After some research, we discovered that the campaign appears to have been wholly abandoned. This depresses us, as September 8th is widely known by Star Trek fans to be the date of the premiere of the original Star Trek series on television in 1966.

So, on January 17, 2009, we came to the decision to relaunch the campaign ourselves.  After redoubling our efforts to find out if the campaign was indeed being hosted elsewhere, we clicked on the link we have in our web site to go to Ex Astris Scientia's Star Trek Day Campaign web page which still had the 2007 banners. We promptly contacted the webmaster, Bernd Schneider, and asked his permission to take up the lead in reviving the campaign. He gave us his blessing to do so.   We, Utopian Federation, will hopefully play a central role in helping to get the campaign going once again.

We hope all of you Star Trek fans out there on the internet will help us to celebrate the Star Trek phenomenon by joining the campaign.
